Home Remodel
We used a two-stage process for this extensive home remodel that allowed the owners to stay in their home during the renovation as opposed to moving out.
In the first phase, we remodeled the hall bath on the second floor. We expanded and increased functionality by incorporating a closet into the bathroom. Then, in the second phase, the owner moved to the second floor so we could remodel the master bathroom and other living areas on the first floor.
We worked with Lorena Checa AIA LEED AP of CHECA Architects PC from Washington, D.C., who came up with the design concept and scope of changes. With those guides in place, we created the drawings and details. Subsequently, we had to make changes to the layout of the master bathroom area to meet the clients’ budget. The scope of phase two was extensive and included:
We are grateful for the impeccable taste of the owner and Architect whose selection of materials and decor makes our work look even better.

- Full master bath remodel to make the space modern, more usable, and more inviting
- Relocate and expand the walk-in-closet to increase capacity and functionality
- Replace 3 large windows in the living room with a sliding door and windows for a light-filled space with increased usability
- Replace 2 fireplaces
- Replace all skylights with solar skylights from Vellux, which qualified for a 26% federal tax credit
- Replace the screen porch screen and add railing as well as acrylic panels in corners for enhanced beauty and protection
We are grateful for the impeccable taste of the owner and Architect whose selection of materials and decor makes our work look even better.
