Theta Homes received the 2022 Building Sustainability Award for Single Family Project of the Year for this home.
This home is designed by Architect "hays+ewing design studio" in Charlottesville, VA and is ADA compliant. There are many important features in this home such as automatic door openers with remote control for easy access, optimized HVAC system with ERV (energy recovery ventilation), closed cell foam insulation between floor bands and in conditioned attic, conditioned crawl space with Radon detection system, solar ready and many others.

Update as of Sep 28, 2022: The Alcazar home is selected to receive Building Sustainability Award. Coincidentally the owners installed solar PV system which went live 2 days ago. We asked Viridiant to run the energy efficiency model with the installed PV system. The new HERS score came out to be -8. Wow! The PV system is generating more electricity than is consumed.
