McCauley Home Remodel – Accessible Kitchen & Bathroom Renovation
The owners were initially looking for an empty lot to build their final home designed for aging in place. After being unable to find a suitable option, they decided to remodel their existing home to better meet their long-term needs.
The project focused on updating the kitchen and improving accessibility by converting an existing bedroom into a bathroom and closet designed to accommodate wheelchair use.
- Complete kitchen remodel
- Created a window opening between the kitchen and living room to improve connection and visibility
- Converted a bedroom into an accessible bathroom with a roll-in shower, along with a closet accessible from the first-floor bedroom
- Replaced flooring throughout the updated areas
- Updated powder room
This remodel significantly improved both functionality and livability, creating a home better suited for aging in place while maintaining comfort and usability.
